Since the dealer just installed factory goodyears on my C5, when I bought it, I have no experience with the Michelins on a C5; however I had a C4 and switched from the factory GSC's to Michelin Pilots. What a difference, absolutely amazing in the handling department. On top of that I got over 40,000 miles out of them, the factory Goodyears only lasted less than 25,000. When I wear these out I will definitely go with Michelin Zero Pressure.
I own a set of Michelin Pilots and I wouldn't drive over my "EX-mother in law" with set of Goodyears. I love my Michelins and if I tried to drive over the "EX-mother in law" with my C-5, I would get stuck anyway. Kind of like trying to stuff 20lbs of "you know what" into a 5 pound bag!
But how do you really feel about your EX-mother-in-law?
Another vote for the PS2's. Even though I did well with treadwear on the F1s on my Z06, they don't compare to the mileage on the PS2s. I got the F1s up to 24,000 miles before needing to replace them. (Others have worn them out by 12 or 15K, but I'm not that aggressive...I have fun, but don't track the car or light up the tires...too much). Now that I have the PS2s, I've gone 26,000 miles on them and they still have at least 1/3 of the tread left...same driving style. Maybe even more tread than that. Plus, they're quieter and better in the rain than the F1s.
Another plus is that there's a bead around the rim that protects my stock wheels from curb rash. Let's face it...it happens sometimes. I did it a few times with the F1s and it's not pretty. The bead protects the rims from that.
I hate to be a spoilsport but, I just replaced the OEM Goodyears with BFG (owned by Michelin) and could not be happier. Check out the comparison chart on the Tire Rack web site
I got 34K out of my original GY run flats. The last 15k I hated my car. It was not fun to drive. Noisy, and followed ever hump in the road.
Then I got Michelin Pilot A/S ZP Oh my gosh what a difference. Quiet, nice handling, no weaving following the road humps, smooth, etc. I will never go back to the GY's. You will love the Michelin's if and when you get them.
Goodyears SUCK and they should rename them BADSIXMONTHS i have had them as OEM on several cars now i switch them before even getting a new car. They are loud, they don't last on my truck they lasted 25000 miles on my wifes Sunfire they lasted 35000 miles on my GrandAm they went 20000 miles. My PS2's have about 20000 miles on and are in great shape. My Runflat OEM's on the Vette i took off after 15000 as they were unbearable.
Keep in mind that many vehicle manufacturers buy tires by price and most often will NOT choose high-end aftermarket versions of tires.
I spoke to a Discount Tire rep, not too long ago and he explained that many OEM tires, including Michelin, are crap - don't last more than 20,000 miles.
I've found that almost ANY aftermarket tire will ride better than OEMs, even less expensive ones. You'd be making a big mistake if you thought that the OEM runflats are representative of all GoodYear tires. Fact is that Goodyear's line of aftermarket tires, including the GSD3s and tripletread tires have won accolades from many magazines and independent testers.

Actually my second choice of tire after the Michleins, and it was a close second, was the new GoodYear GSD3's. One of the factors is that GoodYear doesn't make a 265 size to fit my front Z wheels. (Yeah I could have used 255's or 275's)
My third choice was BFG KDW's
Absolutely no regrets going with the Michlien PS2's!
