Default Brake hubs

I have a 00 vert. I'm about to replace the rotors and pads. In the helms manual, It says I need a hub cleaning kit. Is this kit really needed?

Thanks

Hub cleaning kit? You mean the stainless wire brush hanging on your wall? That's all you really need to do and don't get carried away and oil or grease the studs. They won't torque right if you do.

Never heard of such a thing and agree with the wire brush. I like to put a little anti-seize on the back of the rotor where it meets the hub to impede corrosion back there. I also usually paint the rotor hats front and back with some black engine paint.

I used a wire brush and brake clean... It cleaned up the hub real well.
Like spider 94r I also put antiseize on the back of the rotors surface that mates with the hub.

Not unless you want to go out and waste money for absolutely no reason.

I mean to add that you do not need new bracket bolts or caliper pin bolts either... just clean them with a wire brush as well.

I agree with rws.1

I use a little drop of loctite on the caliper mounting bracket bolts and the caliper bolts. Never hurts.
