The $1.37 cup holder solution
I was at Lowes yesterday, picking up some lag bolts. As I walked past the "bargain bin" I noticed one of those ash cups that you put in your cup holder to put butts in. Hmmmm....ding ding ding the brain alarm goes off.
So, unlike usual, I listen to myself and buy this thing for a buck, pick up two stainless screws, and take it home. Lifted up the cup holder door, took the top off the ash cup, put a layer of silicone around the inside bottom(to keep moisture inside the ash cup),screwed it into the cup holder, and VOILA, the perfect holder!
It works great. It sits inside the cup holder, and actually looks like it belongs there. It's big enough to hold a can of soda. It's easy to reach. AND you can place a 24 oz. cup of coffee in that sucker and it won't even budge around a corner. Best of all, it is easily removable for any reason.
I would post some pics, but the digi-cam batteries are in the charger right now. Soon as they are charged, I'll get some taken.

I was viewing your Photo's and when I saw the AC&T cup I realized that we must be close! If things go right I'll have my first C5 tomorrow or Wed. It is a white 98.
Is there any more of the ash things at the Hag. store and if so where might I find one?
I have many questions so you might get PMed some since we are from the same area!

Oh, I spoke to his father about going for another ride. He laughed his head off and said he didn't think he could take anymore corvette talk.
He then said he appreciated your offer, and may take you up on that when the weather gets a little less hot and humid. But, THEN, he mentioned a white 99 vert he saw advertised in auto trader. And he had THAT sound in his voice..... So we may be getting another addition to the C5 family.
