Alright DAMIT, I've had enough of my fellow CF members ignorance or downright STUPIDITY! First off, I am mad as hell that I have to explain the obvious to people that are smart enough to own a Corvette! Second of all I am REAL disgusted that I have to go on from here! Sit, listen and learn!

If you can vote,,,,,,,, you are part of the problem,,,,,,because your vote has been ignored by our "leaders" in DC and locally! The reason we pay way "LESS" than the rest of the world for our fuel is YOUR FAULT!!!! People like me KNOW HOW TO DRILL, REFINE, ETC. in our on back yard for oil and gas the safe and enviro cool ways. If you buy the greeenies line of bs GOD help us all! 31 years in the biz,,,I KNOW what and how to get us outta this problem! Trust us fellow Americans with American kids! Someone on this thread said that those evil oil companies just saw oil prices go down today,,,,,,,,,future price went above 73 today,,,,check it out yourself

Gawd I am tired of broadcasting the painfully obvious

I think what the exhaust gases are doing to our atmosphere/climate is a lot bigger problem than the price we have to pay for fuel.

Default Here is the answer to why....

Last week, the DoE (Department of Energy) said gasoline inventories were about 4.2 percent below their level from a year ago.

The market was still digesting an International Energy Agency (IEA) report published Monday that warned OPEC spare production capacity would shrink to bare-bones levels by 2012 amid robust economic growth, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.

"The IEA projects oil demand to raise to 95.8 million barrels of oil a day by 2012 which is an astonishing level that will give nightmares to every peak theory oil* enthusiast," said Phil Flynn of Alaron Trading.

Flynn said the IEA is worrying about falling production in oil fields in Mexico and the North Sea, as well as the growing nationalization of world oil supply.

"The IEA is telling us that worldwide oil supplies are falling faster than expected and could create what the IEA calls a world oil supply crunch in the next five years," he said.

Maintenance at North Sea energy facilities scheduled next month also was fueling buying, analysts said.

*Peak Oil Production= the point when we are pumping the maximum amount of oil out of the ground as possible, after that point every year less and less oil can be "mined". For US oil production that date was 1972

Once again Commodity Futures Traders set the price of energy not the oil companies. Your beating up on the wrong people you should be screaming at the people that drive status symbol vehicles that get 8 miles to the gallon.

Actually such a spike is not uncommon in the city that I live in. 25-30 cent jumps happen in a day. Prices will slowly come back down and one day, BOOM, 30 cents higher. This happens weekly/biweekly.

It doesn't even faze me nowadays.

It has absolutely nothing to do with "the oil companies"......its the federal taxes that need to be regulated.

For anyone else (in the US of A), can you top this?

Prices here HAD been 3.15 / 3.19 per gallon (Premium 91 octane was about 3.30 / gallon)

As of a few minutes ago, price was raised to 3.35 and 3.39 / gallon (unsure what the jump was on premium, but I expect the same 20 cents per gallon)

Anyone else making 20 cents more per unit today?
