My Concern With A Battery Is Acid Being Spilled On The Vehicle Under Normal Use And Some Batteries In The Past Were Noted For That Problem, The New Agm Battery I Think Has Solved That Problem.
Just because we drive Vettes doesn't mean we need some special fancy smancy looking/sounding battery. Ive been using Autozone batteries in over 20 of my cars in the past 15 years and have never had a one of them last less than 4.5 years and not a one leaked or otherwise. When my 03 Z stock battery finally dies probably in a couple yeas from now its getting a Autozone one also.
I have a red top in the wife's station wagon, that sits out 24/7 in the heat etc, and it have been great for about 5 years now.
I replaced my Z battery with the smaller (lighter) yellow top. The leak issue concerned me, and since it's not a daily driver I liked the idea of a ddep cycle battery.
However I have since put a battery tender plus on both Vette's, as they are not daily drivers, and that works great. Never have to worry about the charge, and you can use any battery and it will be like new even if the car has not been driven for 3 months. Actually had hand surgery that keep me out of the car for 3 months, and she fired right up after the dotor said I could use my hand again

Although I have not been able to personally verify this on my own car, Z06 Corvettes should have come from the factory with AGM batteries. This was done not only for the prevention of acid spills but also because AGM batteries are typically lighter in weight. As we all know, weight savings was a major consideration in the build of our cars.
What battery tender do you have? I've been looking around and there are a bunch to choose from. Can't seem to decide what I want.
The battery tender plus, with the red and green light. It is slighty different in that it is specifically made for sealed AGM batterys like what I have in all my cars. The battery tender (not plus) is slightly different and for batterys you could add water too.
On thier site they explain it all, but I am no electrician..
I got them for 37.50 on ebay. Don't pay the 59.99 you see all the time.
