Roof flew off.
Yeah iam an idiot and didnt notice it was raining outside when i pulled the vette out this morning and had to pull it in to put it on. So im on my merry way to work and hit a fairly large sized bump in the road then a sudden hissing sound comes from somewhere im looking all over no messages on the dic and no change in the way the car was driving then i look up and right at that moment the targa top flies off just like in the fast and the furious. The roof is twirling throught the air and im hopieing that it wont explode on impact. So i flip a U and run down the street to go pick it up. The only damage is a 3 in ch missing piece of glass on the driver side. I was thinking of getting a painted roof to match my silver car because i think it would be a cleaner look anyway so i guess this is the perfect oppurtunity. Anyone know where to get one at a reasonable price?

Check the 4 sale section. Ones show up there pretty often. Any 97-04 one will work, but It might have to be adjusted a little. If you get one from the deal, make sure to bring an extra arm and leg.

I am a member of the flying roof club.... Ruined my glass top about 2 months ago.... Didnt break it, but scratched the heck out of it... If someone knows how to fix somthing like that let me know, doubt it thought....

It happen to peter pan but he was lucky! No major Damaged, all he had to do is get it re-painted! ! I know a place here in town that sells them for about 400.00 to 500.00 depends on condition!

i feel so much better now,i done the same thing last year,i only had the car about 2 weeks.my wife said the look on my face was priceless,and she couldnt beleive that i was actually speechless,good luck they are not cheap,try astrotops.com they are the cheapest i found,look on the bright side at least it still fits on the car

Yeah i didnt know it was raining so i just threw my roof on real quick and rolled to work without latching the roof on of course. Iam alright with it because i was gonna get a painted top anyway and it was pretty cool to see that thing get hurled through the air.
