The blackwing has two holes on the left side (when installed). Also, the kit came with something that looks like a small plastic cylinder, a grommet for the small opening and a rubber plug for the bigger opening. The instructions say nothing about them. From what I can gather from many searches, I connect the existing air line to the bigger opening (what grommet do I use?) , I insert the supplied grommet into the smaller opening and install the plastic cylinder. Is this correct? Also, the small cylinder says 'push to reset'. Need some help. Thanks. Ed
That is a restriction indicator and has been used for decades on tractors and trucks....As a former diesel mechanic, I feel that the indicator is overkill in this application. Think of it as a "cake decoration", I just cleaned my Blackwing and will probably plug the hole soon, you should clean the Blackwing well before that indicator changes color. I also went to slponline and purchased their cleaner and recharge kit versus using the K&N kit. I saw a thread here and it was recommended that only the SLP kit should be used.
Of course the other hole on the left side of the housing is for the fresh air line for the air pump, I believe.
Nice avatar, is that you? your sister? Did you have another question regarding your original post? If you don't have the air pump hose just plug that one?
Thanks for the responses! I got it figured out. Will be doing the install on Saturday. I suck as a mechanic so this will probably take me a few hours.....slow and steay as not to break anything....

Avatar is not my sister, my wife, nor my mistress. I was on a business trip in Japan taking random photos on the street and there she was! Thanks for your help! All questions answered. Ed
