From what I see it had a crank pulley installed then a few accessory drive pulleys. Is that consistant with info you got?

Start reading from the Claim History part.

I also noticed two shifter cables have been installed.

See the JO690 thats the harmonic balancer/belt idler. There are three of these labor operations indicating 3 repairs in the same close area. Also has 2 K5180 thats the shift cable.

Yea Dave it dosnt look like the year 2000 was very good to the car 13 problems some related and some not. But from 2000 to now it looks like its been a pretty stable car. Ill keep my fingers crossed. And thanks for the help.

It also doesn't look like a buy back candidate as it only had 2 problems in the 3/36 warranty period and most of the other problems are minor and they were resolved in 4 service trips. The car has one more trip to the dealer for a three year old car than the average Toyota of the same age.

I agree with you Bill. There are 3 similarities with pulleys. But thats all. And Registration does say Lemon Law/Buyback on it. I just drove it 800 miles without a problem, well almost, got home and did my routine check and noticed driver side differential seal was blown. But that seems to be the norm on these sooner or later. Ah what nthe hell it has 90,000 plus on it.......

Hey, SlickRick, does this car look familiar? It's on the third Texas owner now (me) and still drives and looks great. The only thing needing repair is a rocking driver's seat.

The first Texas owner had a title without the brand but both subsequent owners got the branded title. Not sure how that happened and can't see what the buyback was for, if it actually was a buyback. Did you ever run that to ground?
