Default Service Ride Control **HELP**

I changed my oil today, and now I get:
Service ride control
Shocks inoperative
Maximum Speed 80 mph

I did lift the car for the oil change. Could I have damaged something to cause this problem?

I assume you have the F45 (2000 Vette).

Before doing anything else - attempt to "Reset" the message. If that clears the message be sure to drive the Vette (~50 miles) to ensure that the computer resets.

Otherwise:

It is possible that one of two things occurred when lifting the Vette:

1. One of the connectors (top of the shock) came loose - quick fix is to just reconnect the wire.

2. A ground wire is loose (it is located under the engine on the drivers side - prone to getting loose - just re tighten).

Note the control (electronics) for the F45 is in the rear trunk compartment (drivers side) so it is not likely that you caused it any issues during the oil change.

Thanks for the reply. I have a couple of dumb questions...
When you said 'reset' the message, I did hit the reset button when the errors appeared. The message goes away for about 10 miles, then it reappeared. Do I have to drive the 50 miles on one trip, or could it take a few trips?

I looked under the car. Unless I'm confused, it looks like the electrical connector for the shock is at the bottom of the shock (not the top)

Looked around for the ground wire on the engine. No luck . Could you please be a bit more specific where it's located?

Maybe I need to take it to the dealer...
