Default Cross Drilled vs Dimpled Rotor

Any one have any thoughts on the plus and minus of either from what I have read they perform similar but the dimple may be more structural sound.

I have read that dimpled dissipates braking heat and gasses faster.

IMO Dimpled and drilled are basically the same but the dimpled since they are not drilled thru will be stronger and not as subject to heat and stress cracking.

And you retain more surface area for the pads.

Neither have any use at all other than BLING and guys that track their cars know better than to use either. For the street there is no real difference in longevity.

If cross drilled rotors are useless on the street, why do General Motors, Porsche, and others offer them on some of their cars?

Because people will pay money for bling. Chrome wheels are useless on the street, too. As are racing stripes.

Next question.

Exactly.

Want to see if they give better performance? Go to ALMS and see how many race cars have cross-drilled rotors.

They are not useless, they get ignorant people to point and go-"look at those high performance brakes".

Yep it's true they do put them on the C6, But did you also notice they enlarged the rotor dia. by 1" and it's on a lighter car?
Cross drilled or dimpled rotors are for bling only and have no purpose on a real high performance car!

After reading numerous articles about rotors, I went with Power Slots and they work great.

Come on now, you know racing stripes add at least 50hp.

There you go......And I track it too. I purchased them for performance not bling. They are Performance Friction rotors.
