Default Turnsignal malfunction

A couple of times per week, I notice that the turn signals are not working. When I immediately restart the car, everything is fine. Any thoughts on this? Could it be computer issues?

Mine quit working or should I say became erratic. The problem was the flasher module in the center of the dash. I replaced it but it took a lot more than an hour as I had to remove the dash to get to it. One of those items that they put in place and built the car around it.

Someone in another thread mentioned that they had simply cleaned it with electronic cleaner. If someone has done it can you explain how you did it and what cleaner you used. I believe in trying the simplest solution first and work up from there.

Thanks

Second hand but someone posted that a while ago

He used Electronics cleaner - $5 at Radio Shack. It has the long plastic extension spray tube. A healthy dose on the inside of the switch did the job.

As you say, worth a try.
