Looks like a real nice car. Hope this one works out for ya. Your frequent flyer account should be lookin pretty good. I was wondering if the guy would throw in the extended warranty for you
(THIS COST IS $50 EXTRA TO BUYER TO CONVERT THE WARRANTY WITH GM-THIS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALES PRICE)
Thanks so much for the kind words, everyone! It seems like tuesday will never get here! Turns out the guy is a State Farm Insurance agent, so that makes me feel a bit better. (I have State Farm Insurance too) We've talked on the phone a few times, and he seems a stand-up guy. One thing's for sure, he can't be any worse than the dirt bags I met down in Florida. I have a good feeling about this one, I think she (the new Vette) has found a new home. I'll take good care of her. Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and the endless things I've learned already on this forum. You guys are the BEST!!!!
Ok, thanks, I was just using the words he used on ebay, or I think I did, anyway. I'm too excited to be sane at the moment. Will take pics as soon as I get up there to pick it up. Thanks everyone!
As some of you will remember, I flew down to Florida last week to pick up a 2001 Vert from a dealer that I bought from on ebay. Turned out the dealer was employing pathological liars, and the car was grossly misrepresented. I passed on the car, got my deposit back, and resumed the search anew.
Kept looking at autotrader.com and the forum 'for sale' areas here, but the ones I found were always either too high mileage, too high in price, or the wrong color or the wrong tranny. (I wanted a M6). Well, tonight I checked back on a 2000 Victory Red Vert with tan top that I'd been watching on ebay. I put in a cursory bid to test the waters, and viola! became high bidder and just cleared his reserve price.
Kept watching as the time drew down, and got a little nervous, but lo and behold, I won the auction on a 2000 Vert with only 18K miles. Has the tan top and interior, with nice-looking seat covers he put on also. Spoke to him on the phone already, and he seems like a pretty decent guy. I'm flying up to NY next tuesday or wednesday to pick it up. (Oh, and the carfax was clean, and the car has the GM extended warranty until 2009.) I'm stoked! My very first Corvette at last! Here's the link to the ebay page, if anyone wants to see it. Wish me luck everyone, hope this road-trip turns out better than my last one!
