Congrats on the new vette. One of the great things about getting the car will be the drive home. I did it twice and loved each trip back. Still have both corvettes. About the sleep, I don't think a night goes by that I don't dream of my corvettes, or previous ones that I have owned since 1960, I am 67 now - you'd think I would have outgrown this - but once you have the fever, it never leaves, and you don't want it to. Remember the wave! And as an afterthought, I am happy that you passed on the Florida car, it may have been a bad purchase for you and could soured your desire for the world's greatest car.

Oh I am DEFINITELY glad I passed on the Florida car. You won't believe what they did...... picked me up at the airport, just as promised, they described the car on ebay as "excellent" in every category. The car has horrible paint, it needed repainting big time, the front air-dam was hanging down on the driver's side, about to fall off, and the cigarette lighter was missed the male portion, and the female portion was shoved through the console and was hanging down inside there. I looked at the salesman, who had often assurred me that the car was "pristine" (His words, certainly not mine) and asked him, "You just thought I'd [I]take[I] this car?" I mean, they KNEW I was coming to pick it up, and they didn't even attempt to fix the lighter, or the air dam, nothing! I had them take me right back to the airport, where I then learned that you NEVER try to buy a ticket for same-day flights. (I had bought a one-way ticket, expecting to drive the car home). Going down to FL from NC was only $170, going back with same-day ticket would be $680. Excuse me???? SO I had to stay overnight at a hotel, and fly back the next day, where it would only cost the $170 again. So needless to say, although I feel 1000% better about this car, I'm still a bit nervous, although I have spoken to the guy several times now, and he really sounds like a stand-up guy. I'll know tuesday, that's for sure!

Oh, and if anyone wants to know the name of said dealer, PM me and I'll tell you. Don't want to open myself up to slander charges for the internet.
