Duplicolor makes a spray-on mask that washes off with soap and water. It comes in clear or black. Do a quick tape off and spray it on. I used it once and it worked well. Trip was about 700 miles over a weekend with a little rain. I had to scrub a little to get it off, but it did well. If you're planning on showing your car anytime during the trip, you may have to go to a car wash to get it off and reapply before hitting the road again.
Getting ready to repair a few of these on my front bumper. Trying Dr.ColorChip first. If that goes well, I already have the 3M ClearMask to add after the repairs.
Hey thanks guys, let me know how the Dr. ColorChip works, and im looking at the 3M Clear bra it looks great where did you order yours from?
There is a 3M website, and you can chase down local rep. A lot of dealers are using the local 3M reps. Problem is: Tough to find the ONE PERSON at dealer who knows the name and ph # of rep. I would start with general sales mgr or new car mgr. All brands of cars are using it; they have the rep visit their lots and install the stuff on site.

Ordered mine from http://www.clearmask.com/ - if you call in rather than order over the web they will probably extend you a sustantial discount (they did me).
I will be installing the 3M myself and will post results. I was not trying to get around paying for a "professional" install - it is just that my overall experience with "professionals" in the region I live in has not been encouraging. We seem to be overrun with people that are "certified" yet "unqualified" in almost every area. I spend half my time fixing what "certified-professionals" have screwed up. Maybe this 3M thing is the rocket-science that several have suggested (guess I will be finding out) - I should know in the next couple weeks or so.
Ziggy9MM, I had a similar chip on my hood. I used GM touch up paint. It is a lacquer. I filled the chip four times and then sanded with 2000 grit and water until it was smooth. When rubbed out it looks good. Use a toothpik to apply the paint if the chip is small.

About the only way to get a chip that size fixed and not notice it is to repaint the front fascia. Don't know if a good body shop can blend in a portion of the fasica and not do the entire thing. If you want a good front bra, go with the GM one. Reasonable price, good fit and it protects well.
