im right in the middle of changing out the gears and the right headlight is stuck in the down position. won't go up manually, by turning on the lights or i even tried to pull on it. anyone have any suggestions?
on the headlight motor itself, there should be a 1" wide thing that looks like a gear. using your fingers, turn it and this will manually raise/lower your headlight (very slowly, but it works)

good luck
thats what i meant when i stated manually, i guess the gear is so stripped out that it wont even catch on the motor anymore. thanks though

If you can (maybe with someone else's help) try to raise the assembly by hand while engaging the manual wheel. Just until the worm gear can "find" good teeth. Don't be afraid to break it,,,,,,,,,,, it's already broke. I did this and it worked fine.
hey thanks for the late night help guys! finally figured it out and it took quite a bit of time. Ill just throw this in there in case someone else has this same issue in the future.
With the headlight in the down position, take of the cover panel by removing the three screws (97-00) and while pulling up on the headlight housing, use a long screwdriver to manually turn the shaft. it should then pop out of the down/locked position and then you are able to continue with the rest of the nightmare .
