to all you fellow corvette owners that have ccw wheels...why did i not get them chromed...i have them for about 6 weeks and they are a lot of work. do not get me wrong they are great wheels, and they look super. i will more than likely send them off this winter and get them chromed...what do you think...maybe we can get a group pur. with a good chromer. if any of you know of a good chrome company please let me know....THANKS...
I was talked out of getting polished CCW's by a friend who had polished wheels on his Vette. I'm sure glad I listened. I ordered the chrome version of the 505a through West Coast Corvettes. They're high quality wheels and very easy to keep clean.
I have had my polished 505a's on for about a year now, a few 1000+ miles road trips and drive it a couple times a week and they still look great. Adams #1 and 2 metal polish keeps them looking new and some detail spray inbetween. if you let polished rims go then their becomes a issue.
I didn't get my CCW 505a's chromed because of the extra money, time it takes to chrome them, and curb rash or marks can't be fixed easily when chromed. I would recommend looking into either Boms Away aluminum polish or Busch Aluminum polish to clean the spots off and polish them. I have used just about every polish out there, including Adams 1 and 2, Mothers, and Never Dull. So far the best results is with the Boms Away! It removes the stains in the Aluminum and leaves it looking like chrome. Also do yourself a favor and look into a product called Rejex. I put this on both front and back after polishing and it works. My car sits outside under a cover and the spots left from rain wash right off. Just coat Rejex on every month or so and you won't be polishing all the time.
I love the look of the Polished CCW over chrome and if you take the proper steps they won't be that much extra work.
Before I retired I was a independent trucker and I always used
MAGIC MIX METAL POLISH ( the lazy mans polish ) on my rigs
wheels and they always look great. Oh yea I still use it on the
vette. If you want
a great look fast- try it
I always bought it at truck stops.

We have them on both cars and they are a PITA to clean. I am sending the silver cars off at the end of our show season this year to be chromed. Get them chromed or spend the rest of your days trying to make them look good.
I have tried all the products nothing works for more than a few days if your car is a DD ours are not DD so they look better longer.
I prefer the look of polished over Chrome. have had both and the polished looks better to me. Mine isn't a daily driver either, so it doesn't get dirty very often.
