"Yes - thankfully the car was recovered by the Elk River police. No arrests, it was found in a field near Elk River, had only been there a matter of hours at most. Some damage, not too severe but it hasn't been run yet. That's really about all I know. I tucked it a long ways away from home for now, not sure what's next for it other than arranging for the insurance adjuster to look at it. Hopefully that won't create another hassle. The police think that it's very likely that all of the attention I drew to it made it undesirable for the thieves. At least they didn't hurt it as much as they could have but it's obviously been through something. The thieves kind of took away the fun of owning it, at least for now. Maybe if it's buried for a year or two I'll feel differently. My wife says "no more Corvettes around here".

Glad to hear that things are turning out relatively well. Hope they didn't do too much damage to your baby. Hope they catch the dirtbags too. And for punishment, they should put them in a cage and display them at the annual Corvette Homecoming! Then we could charge $5 a whack with baseball bats to the Corvette crowd! I think it would be a popular attraction.
Do yourself a favor, put lo-jack or some other anti-theft/tracking device on it. Im sure the reason why it was sittting in an open field was because the thief was watching it to see how long it would take the police to locate it. Had the car been there for another day or two you would have never saw your baby again.
