Well, I've decided that the C4 is not an option. I was able to test drive the C5. Rides very well, though I did not punch it. Exterior is in excellent condition, interior could use some sprucing up. Borla exhaust, chrome Z06 wheels, smoke targa, new tires.

I have listened to what everyone is saying. Although I am still considering this car, I am searching for others with fewer miles and not too much more.

I must say that this was my first time driving a vette in 20 years. Awesome machine. Good seating position. The adrenaline is pumping. I sure hope that winter hurries up and comes, that way I won't have to think about it.

Thanks again and I hope to be a valid participant to this forum soon, instead of a wannabe.

My '98 C-5 had 99k on it when I bought it from C'nV here in Arizona.

It had a tear in the driver seat bolster, they replaced the seat skins before we drove it home. They said if I had any problems to bring it back, very good people to deal with I thought.

7 months later ..replaced alternator, battery ..that's been the only repairs to date .. at 106k miles now.
Put some decent sparkly wheels on it just because ..well ..it really needed 'em bein black an all..
Put a bra on the front because it's a daily driver and the paint chips were addin up faster than I could keep up with them

I got an older high mileage C-5 because I wasn't sure it would be a good 'fit' with wife and I .. I didnt want to spend 30-40k to find out I didnt like the car, figure I can fix or have fixed anything on it

Insurance ended up bein within a dollar of what we were payin for our Durango 4wd. I was expecting a big bite there, and it didnt happen

If you drive one, you know what its gonna be like
Only thing I wish I had done differently is get one that already had most of the mods I am workin up to .. but ..when I bought it I didnt really know what was possible or worked on these ..part of the fun is doin the research and making a plan
