both vettes are just setting in garage . i keep saying i need to drive them but never find a reason or a place to go . i don't go many places and when i do i bicycle or take sons crv . we should probably sell them but wife would have a fit . oh well , guess if thats my biggest problem i'm pretty lucky . i just listed a 77 chevy coupe in 'off topic' [under 'cars' i think] if anyone is interested in them . nice car and original owner , i've known car since it was new .

Don't need a reason/place... just get in and drive...

It's about the journey right?

The most fun I have had so far is driving my vette without any particular place to go. Then I remember I need to get something and suddenly I have a purpose

Reasons to drive;

1. It's a nice day
2. It's a nice night
3. I have someplace to go
4. I have no place to go

I have to find reasons not to drive mine. If I don't, I'll put on a few thousand miles a month just for fun.

This is the time of year in Ohio to enjoy them. If you don't still get a kick driving them, it's time to sell. Find an excuse. How about Mid-Ohio this weekend and joining the Corvette Corral. Sunday you can watch the Indy cars. Maybe Danica will sign your car.

I have the same problem. I hate to let the car sit, but sometimes it feels like there is no place to go and I'm not always in the mood to just tear up the roads.

Chuck Berry said it best:

Ridin' along in my automobile
My baby beside me at the wheel
I stole a kiss at the turn of a mile
My curiosity runnin' wild

Cruisin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go.

Ridin' along in my automobile
I was anxious to tell her the way I feel,
So I told her softly and sincere,
And she leaned and whispered in my ear
Cuddlin' more and drivin' slow,
With no particular place to go.

No particular place to go,
So we parked way out on the Kokomo
The night was young and the moon was bold
So we both decided to take a stroll
Can you imagine the way I felt?
I couldn't unfasten her safety belt!

Ridin' along in my calaboose
Still tryin' to get her belt aloose
All the way home I held a grudge,
For the safety belt that
wouldn't budge
Cruisin' and playin' the radio
With no particular place to go.

I've never needed a reason to drive. Just get in it and go. I could, and have, drive for hours and not go anywhere.

Get a camera. Then take the car out to places you've seen and take pictures of it.

I make sure I rotate the tires once a week at least. It is a true escape from from all the clutter of life in general.
