Default Z06 Question

I have a 2001 Coupe, I've been getting closer to trading it in for a Z06. I was looking at one in the showroom, and noticed that the rear speakers are much smaller than in my coupe. Does anyone know if they have the same performance as the larger speakers in the coupe....or are they a cheaper, less capable system ?

Stereo quality in my 01 Z06 is at least as good as my 98 coupe was.

But if a good sound system is important to you, you wouldn't be driving a Corvette anyway. With that said, the engine note on the Z06 is very pleasant to the ear. :D

I agree. If you want to hear the stereo at a reasonable level, you will also want to put in the rear compartment partition. I made one out of foam board and auto carpet. It really helps to cut the exhaust and rear tire noise from the trunk. Hope this helps. ... :)

I hadn't notice the car has a radio. I'm told it has AC too! Seriously, the speakers are not the reason to buy a Z, or not to buy a Z. The car is awesome for what it was made for. The symphony or concert is another story. :nopity

Hey Guys, the stereo in my 02 Z06 sounds like garbage. I find that I just dont turn it on... I would rather listen to the up and down shifting of the car. (live music to my ears) I had a 92 coupe and that stereo sounded much better but the exhaust note was something that I could take or leave. Its unfortuniate but GM / Bose could have done a much better job. The power head has the watts, they just did not match up the speaker system very well. I have seen many fixes to the problem on the forum. I will probably pick one at a later date and see if I can get some bass out of the existing system. As far as the partician goes, I will probably build one at some point. I like taking the car on long trips and that will improve road noise as well as giving any stereo a better fighting chance...
