When l picked up my 02 torch red coupe it had the clear top on and the painted top in the back. Since l owned my vette l have never put it on for no other reason but it's a pain to do. I keep the solid top in one of my unused bedrooms and there it stays.
Do you switch during the different seasons or as your mood dictates?
I really like the look of the solid top.
Thanks
Alan

Reason: spelling
I find the acrylic (glass) top lets in quite a bit of heat in the summer. I just bought a painted top for the hot summer days. I mostly drive with the top out, but there are always times you'd like to secure your car with the top. I don't find the removing and installation of the top to be a big deal.

My car sits in a huge asphalt parking lot at work so it tends to get a bit hot inside the car, especially with the ebony leather. I recently put my solid top back on and I love the looks of it, so I've kept it on and gained the added benefit of cooler in-car temps. I believe I'll be running the clear top during the spring, fall, and winter, though. During the winter, I'll need all of the radiant heat I can get.
Solid roof panel during the spring/summer months and glass panel during the fall/winter months. With the glass panel on in Oklahoma during July/August, even with the A/C on high, you can still bake bread inside the car.
