I need to vent before I have a meltdown. This happened on Fleebay within the past 2 days for a set of 19" BBS CH Motorsport wheels my father got on an Audi that he purchased and did not need. I sold the set to someone in CT, drove 60 miles to meet this person so they did not have to pay shipping. I get home and read my email last night after I delivered the wheels stating that he mounted them on his car, and drove around for a while and that one of the wheels has a 3" bend/dent in the wheel and he wants a refund/partial or full. I had the wheels checked out prior to listing them on FlEebay and have receipts to prove it, stating that the wheels were fine, straight, and balanced. I told hime the wheels were 100% other than the curb rash from previous owner of the vehicle and that because I was not the original owner of the wheels, I could not sell them unless I had them checked out first and got a clean bill of health for the wheels. I took countless pictures of the wheels for the auction and explained thoroughly the situation with the wheels and why i was selling and did everything on my end in good faith. I told him how do I know he did not hit something while driving on them and then try to put it on me? He said "his guy would check them out today" and that I am responsible. Do I tell Ebay and show that they were straight prior to the person picking them up or do I tell this kid to go pound sand?

If you are 100% sure that when you handed over the wheels and had them inspected prior were okay; I suspect that he did the damage himself. For sure when you delivered the wheels anyone could see a 3 inch dent on one of them. He must have inspected them during receiving, right?
Contact Ebay with all the facts you presented here, especially with the photos and even an attachment from the person that inspected the wheels wouldn't hurt either. Caveat Emptor, as they always say. The buyer should have also inspected them prior to accepting them, so I'd say you are in good shape. If the person leaves you bad feedback on ebay, you have a reply section to respond in. Just say that that person damaged the wheels and wanted to have you pay for part of it. Simple as that! Sucks to see someone trying to defraud you when you went to all that trouble for them.

He just snagged them out of my car, payed cash, and took off, no inspecting no nothing. I am the first person to flip the F out about problems with selling stuff online and being dishonorable/deceitful. Not much irritates me more than seeing bad transactions on here, ebay, the other forums (TBSS/LS1tech etc) I have always tried to go above and beyond people's expectation to make them happy (case in point me wasting my gas at 11 mpg to drop off instead of making him pay for shipping) while also being cautious. I feel as though this kid needs to start pounding because I am really starting to get P'd off.

Sounds like you have documentation that the wheels were fine (other than the rash).
Tell him you're really very sorry he is not satified but you have proof the wheels were fine. (pound sand)
He has two options: 1) Safe Harbor dispute - during which you will show he is probably trying to scam you, or 2) Negative feedback - to which you can reply with proof and leave him negative feedback as well.

NO way do you give him money back or anything else!! A 3" dent would have stuck out like a monsters eye ***** he is full if! That is! HE must have ding them and wants to cover his A--- by trying to put it back on you. If a company inspected them that is all you have to do.

Sounds like someone should pound some sense into his thick, little skull. Good luck dealing with this cretin, let us know what happens.
Hummmm...sounds like you have all the proof you need to properly show him the fingernail on your middle finger. Is that sorta like telling him to get about "pounding sand"?
haha the part where you say he paid "cash" is all I need to know to recommend the sand pounding.
If he would have paid paypal you would have been screwed because he would have claimed non delivery since you met in person or claimed goods not as described and paypal would have gone into your personal checking to get it.
Depending on the cost of the wheels you could give him a $50 refund as a sign of good faith if you want or if the bad feedback will hinder your future unknown auction site dealings.

I agree you should contact eBay before the buyer does. Do it in the form of a dispute as once a dispute has been filed against someone that someone can't leave any feedback. This will protect your feedback score and at the same time present your facts to eBay before his hits. There are all kinds of folks out there ain't there.
