Bought LED tail lites for the Z. Put them in and all is well except for the turn signals. It goes blinky blinky at about 3 times faster then the normal rate. The emergency flashers flash at the normal rate. Anyone else changed to LED tail lites and had this problem. If so, what was the fix other then putting the filament lites back in? Do I need to replace the turn signal flasher with a heavy duty flasher?
I was thinking about putting a filament lite in the inside lite and an LED in the outside lite. That would probably be wild when the brake lites come on! I'll have to give that a try.
It sounds like you have the lights plugged in backward, getting a bad ground. Try unplugging the light , replug the light with the socket in the reverse direction of your original mount........ This may fix your problem.......
My understanding of the LED lights is they draw less power than standard bulbs. That causes the flasher to flash faster because of less load.
Some companies include a resistor(s) that tricks the flasher into thinking everything is normal.
Do you have resistors on the back of your LEDs?
Do a search, this is a common problem. Auto Zone sells a resister for about 15.00. I personally have not had this problem but I've read about the fix David
Well, I tried all combinations last night and still fast blinky blinky. The lites are from Autozone, part number 3157R, and they have 2 resistors on the PC board where the LEDs are attached. Like HOTWHEELS57 I thought the resistors plus the LEDS would present the same load as the standard filament bulb.
The package states: will fit all applications that use 3057, etc. bulbs. Can be installed either way.
They are going back to AZ today.
What brand do you guys use that does not present the fast blinky blinky problem?

Anyone have a bulb listing for the C5? I'm looking at replacing my bulbs with ones from http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm but he needs to know all my bulb sizes.
Mainly looking for all interior bulbs and rear liscense plate and back up bulbs
So from what you guys are telling, the use of a load resistor is mandatory for all LED brands. The only confusing thing is the 4 way flashers work fine.
