Recently here in MD we have had a LOT of rain. The other day, after the rain let up, but the car was still wet a little, I put my driver window down with the express down. It made this really bad noise like it was vibrating or having a hard time going down, hard to explain. It went down ok, just made that bad sound. It went up fine. It doesn't always do this I found, just after raining or being washed. What could be causing this?
I have a Millenium Yellow 2000 Vert and never have had the problem you are describing. I've had convertible top issues recently but not window problems. (Thank God)
What year/color is your car? Vert, Coupe? Doesn't pertain to your question but I'm just curious.
I live in Maryland too. We didn't see much rain over on the Eastern Shore but we sure could have used it! Do you ever take your car to the track in Crofton? I'm there occassionaly but just as a spectator.
I've been to CRAPitol like once this year, but not to race. I did all that when I had my F-bodies.
I have a medium spiral gray metallic coupe, its an 03'. We've had a lot of rain in crofton, and I was in towson on sunday and it rained a lot there too.
Glad it won't really melt if in the rain because I have no garage
Ive never had the Vette door off but I fitted electric windows to my sons Camaro
I'd say it may be the scissor shackle that needs lubricating or the guide rails that have shifted/loosened. Take the panel off and I'd say it would be obvious. Search for Bakersfield's thread on how to change the motor and it has full instructions.
