I got nailed Memorial Day weekend by a State Trooper.
No front plate ticket here is $140.

* I took a picture of the plate on the front of my car and stapled it to the front of the ticket and then fought the ticket... D.A. looked at picture and dismissed the ticket.

I now keep it in the windshield.

Just so you're aware, displaying a license plate in a window (front or rear) is still considered Improper Display of Registration in some states.

You're absolutely correct. But that doesn't stop them from writing them. If you are like me, you don't have time to appear and fight a parking violation... which is probably why they write them betting on the fact you wont show up.

Although, I haven't found anything saying that the CVC violation in question is NOT written into the local city ordinances. But after looking through the SB Muni Ordinance I couldn't find anything. My brother has also recieved tickets in LA for the same thing.

Thats right, I had my front license plate wire tied to my Wrangler's Brush Bumper years ago because I didnt want to drill holes in the bumper. Got pulled by one of Hanover County's finest who showed me that in Va the front plate must be "bolted or screwed" to the bumper or words to that effect. And as crazy as the traffic laws are getting in this state, I dont think this code has changed.

Having made the decision to move to Colorado, I really am disappointed to find out that not only do I have to pay property tax on all my vehicles, but now I have to live with a front plate. I really think having a front plate takes away some of the beauty of the vette.

I got a parking ticket in San Francisco for no front plate. I forget if it was CVC or local ordinance. It was a $10 fix-it ticket. The SFPD officer who signed off on my ticket said, "They always get the Vettes for that. I have one too, I get them all the time."

Well, we can complain, but no one really gives a rats...

I've had my vette for almost 3 years now and so far I've been lucky with not running a front plate.
