I have a factory 12 disk CD player located in the rear trunk.
Lately, when I hit a good bump or go over railroad tracks, my player stops playing. Sometimes it will say ERROR in the radio window. Other times it will show the disk number and track, but will not play. After waiting for it to resume playing I end up switching back to the radio. I also noticed that if I do not hit a road bump, the player will stop playing after 14-15 tracks have played and I again have to switch back to the radio.
Anyone had this problem and what did you do to correct it.
Mine OCCASIONALLY DOESN'T PLAY AT ALL. Just get "err" on the radio display. Like others here I remove the casette. make sure no cds are binding. Replace it and let it cycle thru all the cds. Sometimes I do this 2 or 3 times then the damn thing works again for a few months.
You might have some tracking problem where the jolt actuually gets the laser to move too much with a large bump. Try recycling the casette FIRST. The oem players are E$PEN$IVE. BIGHANK
Hopefully, just removing and replacing the magazine will solve your problem. I've had mine quit from just going around a corner too fast (too many g's).
Mine started doing the exact same thing as bananavettes about 3 weeks ago. Still doing it. I took it out, changed cd's. I have an 03 coupe. Sounds like no real fixes for the problem so far.
I will try the suggestion to remove the 12 disk casette check the cd's and let the player cycle through the disk's.
I do not know why I did not think of doing this myself. Of Course, that's why I always check with this forum with all its great knowlege.
I wounder, I changed my cat-back factory system with a GHL Magmun system two years ago and perhaps I am gitting too much heat directed around the player than I did with the factory system?
Guess I will need to check on this and get back to you all.
