Default Titanium Mufflers??????

I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not?? I've never seen anything that mentions whether or not the exhaust pipes welded to the mufflers are titanium also. Didn't know if you could actually weld steel to titanium? If anybody knows for sure I'd appreciate it if you could enlighten me. Thanks

I don't know about welding steel to titanium, but I'm pretty sure the entire exhaust system from the over the axle pipes, including mufflers, and pipes and tips coming out of the mufflers are all titanium.

Hi folks -

Just like lt1george said - the only portion of the Z06 exhaust that is titanium is the rearmost section.

The H-pipe is stainless steel.

The "catback" portion, which is actually after the h-pipe, is all ti, from the flange to the tip.

best regards-

mqqn

Corsa used to manufacture a complete Titanium system from cats to tips. No longer in production.

The H-Pipe is aluminized steel. I got a good look when they replaced mine under warranty with the TSB about exhaust "jingle".

Just to add another tid-bit of information. I installed a set of TI's on my FRC last night. They weigh 12½ lbs each. The Borla Stingers that I was replacing weighed 15 lbs each. My new TIs are much quieter, and my neighbors will appreciate that every morning.
