I'm hoping someone out there can help me out. I purchased a flip key form Eckler's about 5 weeks ago. I just received it today and when went to the dealership where I bought my Vette to have them cut the key, I was told that they do not cut any key blanks that they do not sell.
I've called a couple of locksmiths and they do not cut keys that have the security chips.
So has anyone purchased a flip key and had the blank cut. If so, where did you go?

I assume you purchased one of the "Corvette Key's"? Take is to Ace or Home Depot. The problem they will have is that with the key full extended it will not fit into their machine. Tell them to cut it with the key at a 90 degree angle to the case (not locked in the fully extended position). That will solve the problem ......
Make sure you get someone who knows how to run the machine before they start cutting, on mistake and the key is ruined. I use to carry those keys but the customer support surrounding the cutting part was a nightmare.
I just wanted to thank each of you for taking the time to respond. As of yet, I have not located anyone who will cut it. The Manager at the dealership where I bought the car is out until next week so I haven't given up hope there.
But in the meantime, I will try as some of you had suggested, and go to my local Home Depot and/or Ace Hardware and see what they could do. I haven't had any luck so far with Locksmiths (I thought that's what they do!!!)
I may not have this resolved yet but I'm a bit more confident now knowing that others have succeeded.
