I just don't like for one, the rear of the car. The now famous C-5 Big Butt, has been lost in the design of this car, plus I don't like the body line there below the high mount stoplight, number two, I don't like the flat "slabbed sides" of the C-6, looks OK on my '04 Mustang, because the '65-'66 Mustang's were slabbed, to me a Corvette is all about a curvaceous body that entices, just like a pretty female, third, what happened to the nose? The large lower grille opening makes the car appear like it's a "Chevy 'Ridin High" (Thank you Mr. Rick Ross), what brought me to the C-5 is the factory led-sled SLAMMED look. It's just freaking cool and sets the C-5 far and above anything on the road out there. When you drive a C-5 the mystique captures drivers all around you as they gawk and stare. I hope when they create the C-7, they don't forget the styling cues of the C-5, arguably, the best Corvette designed in the last 20 years.

My circle of Corvette friends are steadily changing over from C5s to C6s. Three verts, one fantastic black coupe and one blue Z06 that had some beautiful GS stripes put on it. The Z is in a league of it's own in my book but I have to say as much as I like my C5 fellows...the C6s are steadily growing on me. I can now see one in my future.
I would NEVER trade my C5z for a base C6 or C6 Vert. They do nothing for me. On the flip side, I would trade up to a C6Z! The C6Z is the epitimy of what a sports car should be. The fender flares, brake scoops & hood scoop make it look soooo, much more serious than a base C6.

The C6Z is a car in its own class but the regular C6 is much more mild than wild. IMO GM went the wrong way with the C6...its considerably narrower and taller than the C5. "Narrow" and "tall" are NOT traits a true sports car should have. In addition the C6 is to the C6Z as the regular 6 popper Mustang is to the Cobra....maybe even worse. The regular C6 is a "nice" car but it certainly doesn't stand out like the C5 does...IMHO. GM should of lowered it even more and made it wider...make the thing stand out more.
Not too many years ago I just LOVED the looks of the C4. Strangely the C4 now looks dated and "old". The C5 took a while to grow on me, what with that fat butt, but gradually the C5 looked to be the "Best Corvette Ever". I hated the look of the C6, I wondered what the hell GM was thinking to take such a backward step in body design. Then very gradually, the C6 started growing on me. Especially a Victory Red coupe, or a silver convertible. There's nothing wrong with a C5, but I think if we look deep enough into a crystal ball we will all see a C6 in there sometime soon.
I sold my 04 CE Z ilast December and missed the car so much that I just had to have another vette. So I looked and looked and then they started discounting the new Z's and the rest is history...
LOL....yes, amazing how the body style often improves in direct proportion to the discounted prices! I think there must be some sort of built in "defence mechanism".............when we know we can't afford it, we tell ourselves that we don't like the look of it anyway. Then as the prices fall into an obtainable catagory, the body style starts to be much more appealing!
