I am going to go look at an 01 coupe 53xxx miles. Very clean car. The story is he used to live in Alabama and now lives in Houston. Took it to, I beleive he said Thuner Performance in Alabama to have his work done and he has all receipts. (Never heard of them) It has a cam, stall, 373, tranny work, full exhaust, and he said he did that about 10xxx miles ago. He said it runs great other than being that the cam is pretty big and it has died on him a few times, and sometimes when you slow down and turn it starts to load up. I need some good advice on what I should do. It is a good deal so it seems. But I don't want to get the car if I can't even drive it to the store without it stalling. I am going to go look at it in a couple hours and I will let you guys know how it goes. He said he has had it tuned also. Thanks for your help
I drove the car today. It was a very nice car. Sounds unbelievable. They guy said when he drives around town to keep it in 3rd gear bc when u slow down to around 20mph it tries to load up. I noticed it but it was really a big deal. Other than that the car hauls a$$. He is the 2nd owner and he said the 1st owner replaced the motor at 18,000 miles bc he wasn't happy w the tapping sound. The original owner said he would sue the dealership if they didn't replace the motor, so they did. So the motor actual has about 39k miles on it. I need some advice if I should get it or let it pass. It has over $13k in upgrades. I am trying to get it for $23k. thanks
When he says it stalls and loads up, it probably does it a lot. Buy a stock car and have it modded or mod it yourself. You want a car you can drive and enjoy, not lay under and repair.
