Noticed that "Female" was 4th on the list!

 

Last Sat night went to a local cruise nite with a friend who's got 07 C6 Red Conv. 2 ladies walked up and said "Which one is the new one?"
I said, "Mine is only a 98" and she said, "Gee, I thought yours was the new one, it's so shiny"
Of course I looked at my friend and

 

Last week as I was leaving the house the two neighbor boys were playing a few doors down. As I started down the street they ran to the curb and got on there knees and gave a few bows as I went by.

 

 

I have to agree the kids reactions are the best! They really don't hold back showing how cool they think a car is, lol. It was pretty funny at Wal Mart the other day this one kid was flipping out as we passed him in the Vette. He probably was about 5-7. When we walked past him and his dad he was going non-stop about the car but the funniest part was it is the little stuff that impresses them the most. I was trying to hear what all he was saying but the biggest thing that had impressed him was my hash marks changed colors and he thought that was the coolest thing he had ever seen. My wife said she wished she had a camera to get a pic of his face when we rolled by and he had noticed that. It would have been priceless. Always will remember that one! That and always enjoy going thru Zaxby's and having the one girl who always works the window keep telling me how bad she wants my car or if we go in having her try and show it off to all of the other employees, lol.

 

Well I guess Im not the only one with the kids on the block loving the car lol, I will roll bye going like 15mph and their like "go fast!!!" Lol I smile and wave

 

I read a post on the 3000gt forums where I guy overheard a kid tell hi s dad "That looks like a Hot wheels car." I thought that was pretty cool.

 

Funniest one for me was a guy and his 19teenish girlfriend walking up the strip across from the lake we live at (resort town)... His girlfriend was a young hottie and almost wearing a bikini.. (wowza).. She couldn't stop staring at the Vette as we approached, and Boyfriend noticed how much she liked the car and said

"Why's that guy Driving my Corvette?"

Told this one before, but here it is again: The youngest grandson (3-yr-old) Chris and I always took the vette for a top-down "walk" along the beachfront on nice weather Saturday afternoons. We'd just seen "Batman Begins" the night before at the movies. He declares, "Paw-paw, I can read what that (Corvette on the glove box) says! It says BAT-MOR-BILE! So, of course, that's how my '99 got it's name.

 

Got one just the other day.

Him - You married?
Me - Yes.
Him - To bad. I bet that's a great chick magnet!

 

Is that the new Viper? Is that the new Z06? Is that brand new? Great color! That's a gorgeous car! Etc etc.

 

(I just posted this next story earlier today in another thread)

A friend and I were at Denny's last Friday with our C5's parked next to each other. (His is white) I go outside to smoke a cigarette when I see these three 10-12 year old kids walking past out cars. As soon as they got up closer to where I was standing, I hear this one kid say: Man that black one was "HELLA-TIGHT".......I'd love to have a car like that......"Damn Dog" that was "SO SICK"!!! I almost started choking when I heard that cause I was laughing so hard. The lingo that kids use these days is quite humorus at times.

I had a guy ask me something similar out in front of Walmart last month. What asked was: "Is that the new C7" ? He was actually a few bricks short of a full load,.....but I still sat there for a while and chatted with him explaining that the C7's wouldn't be out for a while yet.


I think my favorite Comment so far is the one I got from this little old man out in front of the Post Office who was trying get voters to sign his petition. When I came out, he asked me if this was some kind of "Special Edition Corvette",....I told him: "No, it's just your basic C5 with a lot of modifications done to it". He said: "Wow, that's the Nicest Corvette I've ever seen in person". I was like - (man this must not get out much) but, I shook his hand and said "Thank You very much sir, that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my car"!

 

I was heading to cruise night a couple of weeks ago when a guy and his family in a mini-van pulled up next to me at a stopllight. I could see him checking out my car out of the corner of my eye and he finally says, "Want to race that thing?" and chuckles. He then asks me if it's an 07, to which I reply, No, it's a '98." He said my car was beautiful and went on his way. Made my day!
