Default Coolent Temp

Today I was out with car NYC Temp is in the 90's.. Of course I had the AC on. My Collant Temp is running around 230 oil around 245 .. I was just wondering if that is normal with the temp outside in low 90's. I have a 160 degree thermostat also filter is clean. When AC is off it runs about 35 to 40 degree lower .. Again this only happens when outside temps are in 90's and I am in stop and go traffic. Once I get on open road it drops to normal .. So is this Normal Thanks ..

As long as the temps drop when you start cruising on the highway it's normal. With the AC on mine will alternate between 219 and 235 in traffic.

Did you just install the 160 stat or did you get your fans reprogramed too? With a 160 stat you should never be close to those temps. My coolant/oil temps are no where near that in similar conditions.

Its been around 100 here in Texas the last few days and I have the same setup you do... My temps have gone 220ish max. The only time mine gets that hot is when I get an air bubble in the radiator which has happened twice in a year after running it real hard.
When MTI does my tune in the next few weeks, I'm going to have them turn my fans on about 10-20 sooner.

Perfectly normal

In stop start motoring the electric fan cuts in at low setting about 235. It'll keep it about there in the 90s. Once you get going again it should drop to about 190 ish.
