That's ok, just another reason to keep the C5.

I certainly wouldn't expect the bottom to drop out - if anything they will drop a bit since they will be that much older. In some parts of the country the best time to buy is during the winter months - not much buying activity then and prices generally fall compared to spring and summer.

If you find the car you want at a price you think is fair, go for it. You'll love getting behind the wheel and driving the car.

I agree, Cadillacs are probably the best example of a high dollar car that tumbles in price when only a few years old......and they are often relatively low mileage and well cared for. A 4 or 5 year old Cadillac has to be the best bang for the buck there is out there.

C5 Corvettes are not losing their value now any differently that they have in the past. They still maintain a good resale value as they always have done. It is simply a case of being mid way through a new model period (C6) which is having a slightly increased effect on the previous model period (C5).

C5s are not falling in value much more this year than they did last year, they are getting one year older, just as they did last year. It is true that more potential C5 buyers are being tempted by the C6, which may mean that there are slightly less C5 buyers out there, but the main reason the C5's selling price is less than last year is that the car is one year older. Corvettes of all types hold their value extremely well compared to just about any other car. Take a look at the C4 section, well maintained examples are still fetching close to $20K, despite being over 11 years old. It is mainly a case of normal depreciation, and sometimes owners have a hard time facing up to the fact that their once-new car is not worth what it was, or what they think it should be worth in today's market.

BTW, take a look at your "investment portfolio" lately. You'll feel a whole lot better about the depreciation your Vette!!!!!

[QUOTE=tippi77;1561504590]With the current morgage funds crisis and GMs 0% interest rate in moving 07s will C5 prices really drop over the next 6mths to a year ???

What 0% financing.......there is currently no rebates or 0% financing or any other 'special rates' from GM on 2007 Corvettes in the Northeast.

You can bet on it. I've been buying cars for over 45 years now. Never hit the market right yet. They have all depreciated (no collector cars). Never did learn how to buy Low and sell High. But i sure enjoyed most of the cars. P.S. The ones that were in really good shape and kept up resold the fastest and for the most money at the time.
