shift **** dilemma!

Ok so heres the deal...I had my stock c5 shifter modified to become a c6 z06 shifter. It was cut shorter and bent exactly the same as a c6 shifter. My question is, I want a c6 **** but I'm not sure if it will fit. I was told by the member who modified my shifter that the c6 **** will twist right on and I will be good to go. However, I was about to buy a c6 **** from a diff member and he told me it is not threaded and there is a screw to hold it in place....does anyone know what I need to do? I know they make the c6 **** special to fit the c5 shifter, but since mine has been modified im not sure which to buy...

You will need to buy the shifter on e-bay there is a seller who sells a modified c6 shift **** to fit the c5 with threads instead of screwed.

The stock C6 **** does not contain threads but others have drilled and tapped a hole in the stock shifter rod so that the factory C6 shifter **** cn be used.
