Default 02 Z06...too high?

Looking at a great shape 02 Z06 EB with 36.5k on it. Dealer is asking 29,999. Does anyone else think this is a lil high? Also, I have a 99 Firehawk NBM...some say keep the hawk cuz it is rarer, but Z06 is basically upgrading and since I have 59k on the odometer and it is my DD. So, I am not keeping it a garage queen and won't have a whole lot of resale value (obviously not bad but still not great). Opinions?

I don't know where you are located at but here in the mid west they are going for 27-29k from private sellers and of course little more from a dealer.

that is high as far as I am concerned...have you made an offer- if you do I would go in around 27,500 or so and see what happens...30K for an 02 with 36K miles is on the high side...heck, there was a guy in the C6 forum selling his white 05 with 8K miles for $34! someday people are going to have to realize that and price accordingly! good luck! great color choice by the way!

Much depends on how bad you want that particular car and how much of a hurry you are in. I always see people posting on here what seems to me to be rediculously low figures on what these cars should cost. I paid just a little under 30K for my '02 EB, and it had 32K miles on it and GM certified. But I really wanted EB (seem hard to find), and I liked the excuse to drive to Pensacola to get it. Plus they had financing terms that worked for me. I could have offered them 28K for it, but they'd say no and sell it for sure for almost 30K to some other schmuck. But I'd say keep looking unless you really really want it, and the purchase terms are to your liking.

I agree--that was my experience. I looked for about 2 months actively but only went to see 3 cars in person. I had to have Black and preferred the Mod Red interior. The first 2 cars didn't have the interior and the paint was scratched up significantly. The third had less paint flaws (or at least less aparent ones), lower miles, the Mod Red, plus headers and a shifter and an airbox. I really wanted it; it was just how I would order it from the factory and pretty much mod it if I were to mod.

I figured that someone else would snap it up if I let it go too long. The ad wasn't even officially placed when I looked at it and my fear was that some schmuck (as you say) would spend the extra and snap it up quick once advertised. I had made an offer on car #1 below his reduced asking price (pointing out the paint flaws + other minor issues) and the next day he told me it was sold (don't no if true but he was very close to trading in anyway so this might have been his way of saying "___ you". My offer was really within about $700 of the final price of #3 when you correct for the mileage at 10 cents per mile; plus it had flaws, no mods, little maintenance done, plus 250 miles farther (costs to close the deal).

To me, it's worth $500-1000 to get just what you want instead of compromising on exterior color, interior color, mods, etc.

Yeah I made an offer of 27k and he said his price is low for where he is (Texas). I have to see what kind of financing I could get. Anyone want a firehawk?

It's a store on ebay....not a corvette specialist. Guess I might have to wait?

That doesnt sound too bad to me compared to what Ive seen out here in California.I saw a rough `02 Vert with serious swirls and 60K on the clock for $35,000 .at a dealership.

I also saw a couple `02 Zs at another dealer about a year ago..they wanted $38,000 and both of them had a 40K on the clock.

Overall I its not that bad of a deal 30K for an `02 as long as it is in top notch condition.

Considering what the new Z06's are priced at, any C5 Z06 under 30 grand is a real bargain. These are supercars selling at Walmart prices in my opinion. You'd have to spend A LOT more for comparable performance for a car from Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini or even the Ford GT or Viper.

That price sounds about right. Z06's have been holding their value strong lately.

Yeah, I always get a laugh when someone posts that they knew the brother of some guy who got a 2004 with only 3K miles on it for $25K, and then expect all Zees to be priced like that. It was probably a fixed up total or flood car, but nobody cares about the details on why it was so low priced.

Most of the 02 Z's around here are priced in the 32K-35K range. I just paid 27 for my immaculate 02 with 32K miles. The car came with 2 sets of new tires 2 sets of wheels, and a few little dress up items.

I just picked up my 02 Z06 with 15k miles on it from kentucky for 27,500$. I got really lucky, the car still smells brand new and it was an old man that had it.
