The Corvette Museum had a bunch of C5 exhaust plates marked down in the store last week. You can try checking the store on the website. I'm not sure if they have them on there or not but I did see a lot of the other sale/clearance stuff from up there on the website.
I made mine out of an aluminum kickplate for a door. I polished it and cut it to size. My rear trunk emblem was starting to peel a little and was buggin me so I took it off and glued it on my new plate. barely cost anything except a little time and elbow grease. I'll get some pics tomorrow.
You could even paint it too. I sprayed some clearcoat on mine after I polished it so hopefully it will stay shiney for a while.

Still working on mine. I had our toolmaker cut and round off the plate (aluminum) and bought a decal for it. Problem is it was received with a letter missing so it read "f" America (not good). I sprayed the plate Quicksilver and now have a outlined blue bowtie badge to add to it. Or I might go with her name "Plain Jain" with the bowtie in between (can't decide).
I'm enjoying driving the car so much the plate isn't a priority any more. As my old Union sheet metal worker pals used to say "you can't see it from where I'm standing". Just another mod I don't feel like dumping $50 (or more) on!
On the other hand, in keeping with my patriotic motif I might just stick one of these on?

Believe it or not good quality (3-M) double faced tape works better than you would imagine. I installed mine in the early Winter Months of 2002 and it's still stuck. Just use proverbial cleaning preparation before installation.
