Default C-5 front bra

Is a front cover bra hard to put on? I want to make a long turnpike trip and was hopping to keep the bugs and gravel damage down.

Thanks fellas, I was hopping that was the case. I injured my back and I am limited in my ability to do much work on my Vette.

Do a search here on the GM Bra as well as Marine Snaps. You will get a lot of info. I just put mine on. The hardest part was getting the bra fit to the snaps. You will want to put it in the sun for a while to make it a little more flexable and easier to fit. PM me with any questions.
Good luck

I agree with above posts.

The GM Bra is a good option. It is a pretty quick install and very good for long road trips or for caravans with other vettes that like to kick up road surface

Once you have the snaps on, putting the bra on and taking it off is a breeze.

I recently bought the spandex type bra and mirror booties (I hate bras, but for long road trips it could be of use) from Jim at Southerncarparts and think well of the purchase. One of the things I like about this bra material is it's gentler to the paint and is machine washable. But I still hate car bras.

since I only use my GM bra for long road trips, it is only on the car about 5 days per year.

So.....I toss it outside in the sun, to warm up and stretch a little before install.

And, I take it off once back in the garage.

BTW, I also slap on 5" x 12" of plastic book-lamimating material at the back edge of each wheel well. Since it is clear, not too ugly, but certainly prevents sandblasting and other damage to the paint.

I buy this clear stuff at WalMart, in the secion with Shelf Papers.

Sounds crazy,,,,but it works great for me. I only leave it on for <24 hours.

Default bra

I bought a black (carbon fiber) Colgan Custom. Two pieces (including small part for front of hood)... soft felt-like-covered tabs that slid in easily behind inner fender with help of small plastic spatula (included).

I previously had used a friend's GM bra... and it snaps down snuggly in front after you've replaced existing screws under the nose with "marine head" screws.
I still had those marine screws down under the nose of my car, so I bought a small strip of heavy marine vinyl (black) and had it sewn onto the bottom edge of my Colgan bra. Then stuck 3 snap heads on the added strip to match location of marine screws... and now it holds down just as snuggly in the wind of the open road as the GM bra. Can't see the addition! And, in my opinion, the Colgan is easier to slip on than the GM... which as you've read, requires first softening up in the sun to "stretch" it on.

I've since bought a Speed Lingerie bra in same color as my car. And the Colgan, with those slide in tabs, is still easier to put on... than even the way more expensive SL bra.
