I am thinking of getting a garage built what size fits your vette and possible storage area. I was thinking double garage but stilll need to store some of my wifes stuff and army stuff (duffle bags). This is turning to be more costly than i thought. I won't bring home the vette till it is built!
Is the garage going to be located in Texas, or other 'hot' summer states?
If so, unless you are planning on insulating the garage that you indicate on the post it is going to be HOT, HOT, HOT.
Do a comparison of cost for the option you posted, and the cost of building one in the normal method. Consider all aspects (insulation costs, ability to custom design space, etc.). You may be surprised.
Be advised a metal uninsulated roof will sweat and drip on everything when the humidity is high. you will need vents to get the hot air out of the celling area, both eave and gable vents. When I built mine I added a 12 foot wide fiber glass roofed lean to to one side and then paved it with 12" square patio blocks, it runs the full length of the garage. It is a great place to wax my car out of the sun or just sit and have a cold one.
Good Luck. what ever you build will in time be too small.
In less than 4 weeks I will move into my new garage and I'm already thinking the 1100+ square feet will be too small... And yes, it has 12 foot ceilings for my lift!!
As it was already said, no matter what size you build, it will be too small soon enough.
I wanted you guys with wisdom to give me a size because i was thinking the same it will never be big enough.....oh well time to cut some trees out the back!

When we build the expansion to our existing garage it will be 26 deep and 45 feet wide. Two cars with storage and one bay 12 foot ceiling. Also I'm having normal steps up into the attic of the garage. I'm planning on having close to 8 feet head clearance in the attic. And you know what after we build it it probably will be too small....
No matter what size you make it, it will get small afte a while, when I moveed in here I tought 3 car was going to be enough, now I have 4, and it didn;t stop me from looking for more cars.
Build it as big as you can afford, and make on bay for you vette, with closing curtins around it some body shops do this for the dust, but it works well with air condition, that way you cn play with your car when it too hot outside, my brother has an oversized 2 car he uses for cleaning his cars, he just has a 15000 btu wall A/c, you can wash and polish your car in comfort.....
IMHO figure that the distance around your car, on all sides, must have atl east room for a jack and the jack handle and not hit anything. that includes the jack handle of your other car parked next to it.
no pits here . my vert sits on the lift 6ft off the floor and then i can walk under it instead of around and it does not get damaged . and mine is 40 x 60 with 12 ft. ceilings and it is not big enough .

My 3-car garage is 21'3" x 33' and I can tell you it is not big enough. Wish it were deeper and wider. Plus I wish I had put in more A/C vents or a small A/C unit for these hot summer days. Good luck with whatever you end up with.
I've got 2...one is 20x30, and the other is 24x28. Not enough room. If I ever custom build a house, it'll be a minimum of 48x48...well, if I get my way anyway.
The 20x30 is a nice size for one garage with tools...of course, it was designed to be a 2 car plus workshop.
