Default Fuel Filter? Tps?

Well, I had to take a short trip at lunch and during my trip I noticed something that wasn't happening before, SOOO, I am running this by my fellow VETTE buddies to see what everyone thinks it could be.

When accelerating (just pushing gently) from around 60 mph (RPM around 1900) I start noticing the car has a bit of a jerk (nothing major) and it seems that it is running a bit rough and reminds me of a car that is running on bad gas. I thought that maybe it was just a one time deal, but I was able to do it again and again and again and so on, so !

I was thinking that it could be a fuel filter or the Throttle Positioning Sensor, but experience from you guys would be great.

Thanks,

Micah

When was the last time your fuel filter was replaced? It sounds like it could be the fuel filter. Almost sounds like the same problem I had, then I replaced the fuel filter and fixed it.

That is why I am leaning that what too, because it has been about 10 months.

If you drive it everyday then it should be replaced at least once a year. I actually need to replace mine again.

Agree, just got off the phone with my VETTE guy (Jamison's Custom Corvette - Vendor here on the site) and after explaining to him (and him knowing my car so well), he told me to check my plugs (for fouled ones), so I am going to do that. I am also going to go ahead and swap out the fuel filter soon too.

I will keep you all posted.

Micah it sounds like plugs. I have to change mine evey year or so that cam fouls them up bad with a safe tune and I only drive about 5,000 miles per year or so in the silver car. I am still on the original fuel filter 31,300 miles so far I need to change mine out too. I think after Carlisle I will change it out.

Well, I installed a new set of plugs (NGK TR6) and that fixed the problem. The car accelerates better too now ! I can't believe the difference.

It is nice to know that $19.05 (which included the purchase of the dielectric lube) fixed them problem.

Well, I am off to enjoy my free time.

Glad you got it fixed, Micah. Pretty reasonable cost too.

Just did my plus today too.. NGK Iridium baby! Fuel filter is on the short list, and maybe my noisy fuel pumps.

Well, I called my tuner (who knows my car better than anyone) and that is what he recommended.

Default Hesitation at moderate acceleration

Had a similar problem. Cleaned the MAF and TB. Seemed to go away for about 2 weeks. Finally changed plugs and put in new Red Performance wires. Used Delco Iridiums. My plugs had 70K on them and looked remarkably good, no oil or fouling but the NEW PLUGS finally solved the hesitation. I would also clean the MAF abd TB while you are at it. BIGHANK
