You can make a really nice engine compartment with matching or contrasting paint and creativity. Everyone has chrome/stainless steel.
But with just a litte care, the polished stainless can look good and last a long time. Some of us aren't that creative and/or don't have the $$$ for chrome.
I noticed that Eckler's sells a 6 piece chrome cap set for $89 that includes covers for: Master Cylinder Cap, Power Steering Cap, Coolant Expansion Surge Tank Cap Cover, Oil Filler Cap, Clutch Master Cylinder Cap and Windshield Washer Reservoir Cap. They are all triple chrome plated. Does anyone have these? Any thoughts on the difference of these vs the much more expensive ones (also triple chrome plated) at Creative Engine Covers? Just asking, as I do realize the folks who bought stuff from CEC seem to love it. I just don't have that kind of coin right now. Thanks.
I actually have that set ($89.) and it's been on the engine for four or five years now. No problems at all. The only thing you'll have to do is add a piece or two of tape to the insides of some of the caps to keep them on tight. If you look at my engine in the previous pic you'll see my caps (I added the emblems). I think you'll be happy with them. Like you, I think the caps from CEC are the best, but very $$$. They're just caps after all.
