Hi all. I'm looking to add a little "shine" to my engine compartment and not sure what is good out there and what to stay away from. Basically, looking to add some chrome or the chrome look to fender covers, some caps, fuse box cover etc. I've seen lots of polished stainless steel stuff. Is this OK? Does it last? Does it shine? What are my best options without going crazy on cost. Thanks!!!
SS will scratch very easy and when compared to chrome SS has a yellow tint. My advice take your time a get the quality chrome it will look better and last longer.

Unfortunetely, if you want corvette specefic engine bling, there is nothing that isnt crazy on cost
I've done some trophy chasin' and really prefer chrome. SS takes more care in the long run. Chrome normally costs more but is much less trouble to maintain.

Chromeco makes lots and lots of goodies for underhood and elsewhere. Quality seems to be good, and the price is reasonable. http://www.chromeco.com/ Go to the "Corvette Goodies" link.

I just spend about $1,000 on polished stainless steel engine bay dress-up parts from this eBay vendor. It's Kirbancustoms. Saw the parts on a friends car and liked it. Didn't want to spend the extra for chrome. Will post pics when all parts are installed.
When I first got my Vette, I didn't want to spend the $$ for chrome, so I went with stainless. Big mistake. I'm now spending the $$ for the chrome and every piece comes from Creative Engine Covers. Excellent quality and worth every penny. Also excellent customer service.
I noticed that Eckler's sells a 6 piece chrome cap set for $89 that includes covers for: Master Cylinder Cap, Power Steering Cap, Coolant Expansion Surge Tank Cap Cover, Oil Filler Cap, Clutch Master Cylinder Cap and Windshield Washer Reservoir Cap. They are all triple chrome plated. Does anyone have these? Any thoughts on the difference of these vs the much more expensive ones (also triple chrome plated) at Creative Engine Covers? Just asking, as I do realize the folks who bought stuff from CEC seem to love it. I just don't have that kind of coin right now. Thanks.
So I'm assuming no one has the Eckler's triple chrome stuff or any other lesser priced chrome engine dress up??? You guys have definitely steered me away from stainless. I'm just wishing there were some chrome items out there without the big price tag. Thanks for all the feedback and pictures. You all have some beautiful cars!
