I've just finished installing the HID headlights and fog lights in 6000K. Man they're BRIGHT!!! I can't tell you how much of an improvement they are over the stock lights

Bought same as you, but HIDs still sitting in box. How tough was the install? How long did it take you? Any advice?

The first install of the headlights wasn't too much of a problem, it was more of a PITA getting access down to where the lights are situated. After I did them I found this post (which I wish I had found sooner):
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1629984

Definitely follow this post as it saved me lots of time and mostly lots of pain! TAKE OUT THE HEADLIGHTS! It's a easy (as longs as you have the right tools, 8mm wrench and a 20, not 15 torx driver).

The only thing I had to do was to reverse the connectors on the headlight ballasts. So I would advise you to connect everything according to your wiring diagram, then when you turn them on if they don't work, just turn the connector round, attach and you should be good to go! You should be able to complete the install in under 2 hours.

Also, when I turned my fog lights on they blew my fuse so I would follow the above post and upgrade the fog light fuse to 20A.

That's about it. Good luck and please let me know if you have any questions

P.S. Huge thanks to UncleFodder for the GREAT write up on his install!

I am still amazed at the difference these kits make; the install is pretty straight forward as long as you have the right tools.

You're going to love the new lights, you probably will never use your brights again.

I also installed 6000K HIDs in the head & driving lights. I hate to say it, but, "The difference is night & day!" The driving lights are so bright now, I never even use the headlights! I paid $330. for both kits. The headlight is a 9006, & the driving light is an 881. Best mod I've done, without a doubt.

I used the kits from "that" auction site, do a search for "nissangtrpower". If you're going to get them I would urge you to buy both sets as once you have the HID headlights installed it's only a matter of time until you get sick of the yellow look of the foglights and HAVE to upgrade them as well. Also whilst you have the headlight assembly out you might as well save yourself the time and effort and do both sets at the same time

Awesome... I have been considering that upgrade... Are they hard to install? How long did it take you to do it?

Where did you get your kit RRM707? I have been looking at one of these kits for a long time, I absolutly hate the stock headlamps.
Thanks

I would HIGHLY recommend that you do the upgrade these things are AWESOME!

There's no comparison to the factory setup, from a safety standpoint as well! I regularly drive to the desert from LA and there is a very long stretch of the 91 freeway with no street lighting and I've had numerous near misses with road debris but with the new HIDs you can see everything in your path!

Can you guys stop talking in code? What is "that" auction site? Ebay? THe kits I looked at on Ebay, where direwct sold from China and Germany. I'd rather buy from a USA seller.

What brand are you guy using, with good results and where did you buy them? I am interested in "plug-n-play" HID's for my 2001 C5.
