hello everyone, i just want to know how hard would it be to install a set of b&b headers on my 03 z06. can this be a one person install and how long would it take. i know i should get some LT's instead but i do live in california. thanks for the info, albert
Note one of my follow up posts in the thread about not having to remove the passenger side air tube.
I did the install on rhino ramps. The bolts on the bottom the headers had splayed outward a bit so I needed a small prybar to push/pull the header away from the exhaust pipe. I would also recommend to change the plugs and wires while everything is apart. Change the plugs with the headers out of the car; very easy.
Overall, I am very happy with them. The car is louder in a good way, but only when you stomp on it. Throttle response seems better too.
Good luck,
Brian

I live in California and have long tubes, as do many many other members
I too live in California and have LT's! Most Smog shops don't care just as long as it passes the sniffer!
Which mine did! it's all in the tune!
Your Shorties can be done by yourself and can be done in about 4 Hours taking your time!
If you want to do longtubes you'll need to do something with the rear 02 sensors, Simulators or have them shut off!
If you live near the SF Valley you'll want to go to LAPD (Los Angeles Performance Division) www.thelapd.com (supporting Vendor on the Forum as well) It's where I have my work done on the Vette.
They have a Dyno and Doug the Tuner is the best! You should get a Dyno tune to at leaast take advantage of your upgrades and unleash the true potential of the vette!
