When I press the brakes or put it in reverse the rear lights do not light up... also when I lock the car with the remote the lights don't flash anymore either. However the blinker does make the brake lights flash.. any ideas? thanks
I cleaned the ground behind the passanger headlights.. It didn't seem to help. A friend told me to pull every fuse on my car and check it.. so I did. I found a fuse that was blown #21 on passengers side.. I replaced it and it blew again. Its description is automatic tranmission shift lock control system and inside rear view mirror. Any idea what that is? Is it related to the brake lights? Also I found out that the rear lights DO light up when the car is unlocked... But when I changed the mode on the onboard computer to honk and light up when locked it did not honk either. Could any of the other ground spots be associated with this issue? Perhaps that fuse? Any ideas would be appricated - thanks

Check the bulbs inside your mirror.
If it's the kind with incandesent bulbs (not LED's) and the ends of the bulbs are touching the reflectors inside the mirror... they will ground the circuit and blow the fuse.
If this is the case, remove the #2 fuse (in the pass. footwell) --- remove the bulbs and reinsert the reflectors into the slots inside the mirror.
It's a mickey mouse design, so the reflectors pop loose.
