Dip Stick Bolt
Removed the dip stick bolt to install new plugs and wires (basically holds the dip stick tube against the engine block)...when I go to put the bolt back, it refuses to go back in...gets half way, and essentially stops...
my old man is a machinist and recommends using a shorter bolt...any implications if I do this?

I had the same problem when I installed my headers. It was a hole for the header. I didn't want to force it. I bought a thread repair kit from Sears. It doesn't tap the threads, since doing that enlarges the hole. This kit cleans up the buggered up threads like a charm. Well worth the 49.00 I spent. It comes with both metric and american. David
