Default Does anyone make a electric top conversion?

I was looking at a C6 and the only thing that I really like better about it is the electric top. I wondered if a kit was available for C5's? Anyone know?

I haven't heard of anyone converting their convertible to electric yet but if you hang out long enough I'm sure someone will tune in with some info

I haven't heard of one, but the manual top is sooo easy.

I don't see how it can be done without completely replacing the top. I have seen a video of a hard top convertible C5, but I bet it cost a fortune.

I have a C6 with a power top and I wish I had my old C5's manual top. While it's cool to sit in the car and put the top up, it's slow compared to jumping out and dropping it myself. You also lose considerable space with a power top on the C6. I wish I could trade top mechanisms with you... I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If you haven't done the Window Valet mod I would recommend it. Lowering & raising the windows, was the biggest drawback with the manual top. With the Valet, its just a push of the button.

I will accept the advice from someone who is now living with one. I thought it would be nicer, but apparently not. At the dealer it looked so convenient, but you never know until you live with it day to day. I have the window valet and it should be required for all convertible owners, I love mine. Thank You for your information.

I've had a power top on another convertible

The manual on the C5 is quick, lightweight and there's nothing to go wrong

May not look as cool but its way better.

I heard of a conversion kit a while ago but it adds weight. I seem to remember it was quite expensive and it took up trunk space.

C5 w/window valet and you're golden.

With the C6, you pretty much have to pull over to put the top up just like the c5. The C6 top won't move unless you have the parking brake on. It takes long enough to put down that I never try to do it at a stoplight.

The C6 power top only adds 14 lbs so its negligible. And while a manual top is probably faster the power top cycles in 18 seconds without getting out of the car.

Company in Florida makes them.

Cost =

Also - the unit itself takes up a large protion of the trunk

We have several in our club (LSCC) - not one person would do this mod again on a C5.
