over the years I have owned several Corvettes including a 2004 convertible and a new 2006 convertible.......but never a Z06!
The 2003 and 2004 Z06 Commemorative intrigue me. I have never rode in or driven one so what should I expect considering what I have owned, what about the ride, noise, etc??? Thanks a million!

You will find the ride to be a little more firm in a Z06. It also won't have all of the creature comforts you would find in a coupe or convertible, ie: no power passenger seat, no cd changer, no fog lights, no telescopic steering column (unless someone has added these to the car on their own). Also unless your previous cars had performance gearing in the rear the Z06 will have more rear gear than you are used to.
Not trying to be the technical police or anything but...all 2003 cars were 50th Anniv cars. The Commemorative car was in 2004, they were all Lemans Blue and you could get a coupe, vert or Z06. Only the Z06 has the stripes. While the Z06 was considered limited production, turns out Lemans Blue was the highest produced number in 2004. The Commemorative Z06 differs from the other 2004 Z06's by the paint, stripes, carbon fiber hood, emblems, polished wheels and stitching in the seats...I think that's it. Also, IMHO it is a buyers market for these cars. Several "lightly used" cars are on the market for decent prices.
As for differences in ride, road noise, etc- the Z06 will feel more raw than what you are used to as compared to the coupe/vert. I recently did a quick ride around town in a friends mildly tuned, lowered C6 with Corsa exhaust. Then we immediately hopped into my Z06 for the same ride; mostly in town, stop light sprints although we topped it off with one hwy blast up to about 70.
Believe it or not his C6 "felt" quicker in the seat of the pants. It was more zippy...almost import dare I say, or so it seemed. On the other hand, my friend thought my Z felt raw and that it was neat how you could hear the valve train and other engine noises from the cabin.
My Z was a daily driver for about a year. In short, a very docile car that can quickly become king of the road by merely applying pressure with your right foot...even with the C6's prowling.
If you drive a Z06 you will probably buy it, that is all it took for me.
this is how I ended up with a Z06, I test drove a coupe and a Z06 back to back. The Z06 was a 03 with 15,000 mi and the coupe was a 04 with about 7,000 mi. The Z06 won hands down...I fell in love and it was Z06 or no vette at all for me!!
