Default SS Inserts-Poor Customer Service

Never really been one to bash a supporting vendor but enough is enough.

A couple of weeks ago I found a new front tag piece for the front of the Vette to replace the old one which had taken a beating over the past 40000 miles. I got it painted and needed new stainless sreel inserts for the front.

Monday I ordered a new set of 'Front Letters" from SS Inserts. I also need an extra 'E" for a friend that had bent one.I paid the extra $15.00 for three day shipping. Thursday I recieved the letters and thought I was ready to go. Guess what.......... wrong letters and no extra 'E." I call Barry at SS inserts and he tells me to email shipping and the will get correct letters shipped out Thursday afternoon. I sent the email and Judy McGihon emailed me back and said to please recheck to make sure they were not the correct letters. She stated they were positive they had sent the right letters. That I should have the small letters. I made pictures of the letters and email them to Judy, I am thinking does this lady think I am an idiot. If she checked my account she would find this is the fourth set of letters I have ordered. I know what they look like.I heard nothing else on Thursday.

Friday at noon I call SS Inserts again and talked to Barry. I told him I had emailed Judy as instructed and nothing had happened. I was tired of emailing and I wanted to know when the correct letters would be shipped. He said he had my email and would need my credit card number to ship the correct set of letters and the extra "E" would be $25.00. So when was he going to call me and tell me that? So now I have been charged for two sets of letters and only have a wrong set and no extra "E" Recieved my shipping info tonight and it will be next Thursday before I get the correct set. What about the three day shipping I paid for.

The kicker to this whole mess............Barry or Judy never offered an apology for the mix-up. In 2004 I lost a letter off the car and Barry replaced at no charge. Man have times changed.

The bigger the company the smallert the customer.

Shame on SS Inserts, you need to get your SHiZZ together.

To all my forum friends.... BEWARE!! I will buy from CCA next time, I know Chip gives good service.

I know nothing of this vendor, but feel you should be able to voice your dis-satisfaction. I spoke about my disappointment with a vendor who sells insulation/partitions and caught grief.
There should some some kind of rating dept. for vendors.

"Man have times changed."

Ain't that the truth!

Just look what's happened to the Forum lately!

It's really hard to find one vendor that someone hasn't had a problem with. Seems like everybody has had a problem with at least somebody!

However, no problems with CCA yet. Way to go Chip!

To vendors: It's hard to earn your customer's respect. Once you get it, don't lose it! All it takes is one bad transaction, and they're gone forever! Plus, they tell their friends not to deal with you. You lose double!

Just suck it up and use the F O R D they sent ya.

After, sending the pics, being informed that the extra letter would now cost $25.00 and having my card charged again (and probably another shipping charge) I would have been ready to crawl through the phone and strangle someone. Hang in.

Perhaps you didn't follow forum guidelines for posting a dispute....kind of like this...posting in a dispute thread without having direct knowledge of the transaction and hijacking it for your own purpose.

I and every other Mod on this board has never locked a thread about a dispute with a member or vendor that was posted in accordance with forum guidelines until the problem is resolved or it turns into a bash fest.

If I sanctioned every member who violated the rules regarding dispute threads I would spend all day in the F/S section.

Speculation only adds to the problem either for the buyer or seller and adds nothing to the resolution.

Once again I ask that people follow the rules regarding dispute threads.

I hope that you and SS inserts can come to a solution. Although I have never liked SS letters from anyone, I have not heard of any complaints from SS Inserts. Nothing against you but remember there are 2 sides to every story. Good Luck.
