Default Electrical Problem

I recently had a stereo shop install subs on my car, about a week later my drivers side window controls and power mirrors stopped working. I was wondering if anyone knows what it could be caused by, where is the fuse for the window buttons? Thanks

I think I know the problem and if it is what I am thinking, it has nothing to do with the subwoofer installation...

Can you answer "Yes" to the following questions:

1. Power windows do not work.
2. Pressing any of the controls on the door console* produces no result.
3. The door console* lighting is not illuminating.

*For clarity, when I say "console", I am referring to the buttons on the arm rest that do things such as opening/closing windows.

If you answered "Yes", there is a difficult to reach electrical connector that is in the door jam, packed away inside a rubber boot that extends between the car body and the door. This connector gives power to the door. When this connector gets corroded, a loss of total power to the door occurs. I know because this happened to me and the awesome members on this board directed me to this fix. Also, as a general comment, GM made a bullet proof power train on the Corvette, but horrifically messed up on the connectors which are very sensitive and prone to corrosion.

To clean the connectors, you will need to get to Pep Boys and by an electronic component cleaner and to prevent further corrosion, a can of DI electric grease. Follow the directions on the can.

I believe I have a picture of this connector. PM me with your email address and I will email you the picture.

I hope this helps. -Matt
