^ sweet... I've run VIR over 20 times, can't imagine what it'd be like on 2 wheels.
Then you should try it! I am an instructor with Cornerspeed Rider's School, the official rider's school of VIR. I've been teaching with them about 6 years now. Riding a sportbike at VIR is something that words just cannot describe! IF you get the oak tree turn right on a motorcycle, your right knee just skims over the inside curb by the cornerworker's stand as you go by. Now THAT is some serious fun! Go go www.cornerspeed.net if you want to know more about opportunities to experience VIR in a way you never dreamed of. We even have a two-up bike that is piloted by a 14-time national champion, Scott Harwell. He will take you around the track if you're not up for riding solo, and give you a racer's perspective that you have to see to believe.
I've raced at VIR many times, mostly on the North Course, but every turn at the track is wonderful! A top-notch facility from top to bottom.
Were you running the Full Course or South Course? I've spent most of my time there on the South Course, done a few track days on the North Course and just 1 on the Full Course. I've done I think 3 track day with Cornerspeed. and the rest with NESBA, both are stellar organizations. What kind of lap times are you turning? On the South Course on two wheels my personal best is 1:16.01 and average in in the mid 1:18's, couldn't tell you what my lap times are on the North or Full Course though.
SeaFiveFan,
Do you know a Scott Harrell? Heard rumor that he was working with Cornerspeed.
Cool shot Brian, how did you do at VIR over Labor Day weekend?
It was great... car ran fine, only issue was a cracked RF rotor in the 3rd session Sunday.

I have too many wheels as is Truck (4), Car (4), Rain wheels (4), Trailer (4). I'm a 16-wheeler when I'm on the way to the track... and that doesn't count the CCWs left in the garage

Hi Jim, yes, I know Scott Harwell very well, he's a great friend of mine. He is the rider that pilots the two-up bike. He is a 14-time National Champion roadracer, so he knows a thing or two about getting around a racetrack. I'm going to be teaching at Cornerspeed this monday, (9-10-07) and oddly enough, we'll be on the South Course too. (We usually are on the north course). Come up and see us.
